Kavi® Members Help
Table of Contents
The User Activity Log tool is used to create customized views and reports of changes made to user data: who made the change, when the change occurred and which fields changed. It provides more detailed information about data changes than the User Activity History tool, such as the names of all changed database fields. Information displayed in the User Activity Log results table is derived from the Full Activity Log, where all changes to the database are automatically recorded, but the User Activity Log only includes changes made to user data.
Customized reports are created by setting search criteria, including: name, username, email address, the company with which the user is associated and the period of time during which the data change occurred.

Options
- Name or Email
-
Enter a full or partial value for the first name, last name, full name, username or email address of the user whose information you want to view, or leave this field blank to see all users who meet your search criteria. To increase the number of potential matches, expand the search by entering a partial value in this field and consider leaving other search fields set to the default values. To reduce the number of potential matches, provide more complete values in this field and consider setting other fields to further restrict the search.
Because the Kavi Members search functionality can perform partial matches, it is flexible and can serve many purposes. Here are a few examples:
Want to find all users who share an email domain? Enter just the domain portion of the email address.
Unable to find a user by name or email address? Perhaps it has been misspelled. Enter the first few letters of the name or email address and try the search again.
Not sure if the person for whom you are searching is named Dan Johnson or John Danson? Try entering 'Dan'—or 'John'—to find this individual.
- Company
Select the name of the company whose user activity you wish to view. The default value is All Companies.
- After This Time
Use this field to set a point in time. The report will include only those changes logged after the time specified.
- Before This Time
-
Use this field to set a point in time. The report will include only those changes logged before the time specified.
Note
The time fields can be used together to specify a bounded time range beginning at the time set in the After This Time field and ending at the time set in the Before This Time field.
A User Activity Log report is displayed according to the search criteria you provided. Click the Download button if you want to download this information.
Frequently there will be more than one entry (or lines in the report) for an individual user created at the same time. This indicates the user data change affected more than one database table. Many Members tools change data in multiple tables simultaneously. For instance, the Edit a User tool can change information in both the person database table and address database table.
The report displays the following columns:
- Time
The date and time of the change.
- Who Initiated Action
The username of the user who initiated the change. If this is 'Anonymous User', the change was made from a publicly accessible page, such as 'Sign Up for an Account' or 'Password Help'.
- Activity Type
Indicates the type of change that was logged. This can be added, edited or deleted.
- User
The full name of the user whose information was changed.
- Which Fields
The name of each field in the database that was changed in this user's record. If more than one table in the database was affected by the change, this information will be displayed in multiple rows in the report.
